Obituary of Lee H. Beman

BEMAN - Leland “Lee” Beman, age 64, of Rock Hill, SC, beloved husband of the late Sheila Anne Connelly Beman, died October 14, 2015 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC, with his sister by his side. Born in Hartford on February 2, 1951, he was the son of the late Harold and Lois Evelyn (Pease) Beman. Mr. Beman was raised in Granby and was a longtime resident of the greater Farmington area before relocating to SC in the 1990s. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and worked as the Assistant Controller for Arrowpoint Capita before his retirement this past July. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, high school and college friends, watching football and cheering for the UCONN Huskies. He will be long remembered for his sense of humor, laugh and kind personality. Everyone agrees that Lee lived by the golden rule caring for others. Together with his wife, he enjoyed years of traveling, spending time in Charlestown, visiting the Citadel and walking along the sandy shores of Myrtle Beach until her untimely passing in 2012. Mr. Beman is survived his sister, Evelyn Watkins of RI; niece Lara Joan Houston of CO; nephew, Paul D. Slusarz of RI; his in-law’s, the Gilmore, Lerman, Perler and Connolly families; as well as his loyal golden retrievers, Maddie and Lexi. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Huntington.
