Our sleigh is spreading holiday joy once again! This time to its former owner of over 50 years, Mr. Bill Lyon. His daughters Bobbi Lyon and Bethany Lyon brought him by the funeral home for a visit and a peek at his old sleigh. Bill thought the sleigh was about 100 years old - 50 years ago! (This now makes it +/- 150 yrs. old!!) He acquired it from an antique dealer in New Hampshire and had hopes of someday restoring it (He had restored a previous sleigh). Bill was very happy to see it received a well-deserved overhaul and that it will be preserved for generations to enjoy!

Honored that the National Funeral Directors Association's CEO, Christine Pepper, and Senior Vice President, Anna Bernfeld, dropped by Wakelee Memorial for a visit while they were in CT.  NFDA is headquartered in Brookfield, WI and is the world's leading and largest funeral service association, serving 19,700 individual members who represent more than 10,000 funeral homes in the United States and 49 countries around the world.
