Obituary of Deborah Lynn Flinn
Deborah Lynn Flinn, age 57, beloved wife of Brian Flinn of Derby, died peacefully at home on May 3, 2016 with her family by her side. Born in Catskill, NY on September 21, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Cecelia Brockett Andersen. Mrs. FlInn was raised in Windham, NY and was a graduate of Windham High School. She was a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Russian Language Linguist from 1982 to 1986 and earned the rank of Sergeant. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Hartwick College and in 2006 became the Director of Financial Aid for Charter Oak College of New Britain, until the time of her illness. Mrs. Flinn enjoyed sewing and was an artful crafter. In addition to her husband of 32 years, she is survived by her devoted daughters, Rebecca Flinn of ME, Heather Flinn of Derby and Kerry (Adam) Gilbert of NH; a sister Tracey (Kevin) Andersen-Farmer of WI; a brother, Steve (Barb) Yockey of IN; cherished granddaughter, Melanie Gilbert of NH; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and celebrate Deborah’s life on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
