Obituary of Olga Statkevich
Olga Statkevich, age 95, of Shelton, died peacefully on March 7, 2023, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Ansonia on April 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Pavel and Anna Statkevich. Ms. Statkevich was a graduate of Ansonia High School and longtime resident of Ansonia, before moving to Shelton four years ago. She started her career working in the office of Valley Chevrolet, that later became Dworkin Chevrolet, where she was employed as the office manager for nearly 50 years, until the time of her retirement. Ms. Statkevich was a lifelong member of Three Saints Orthodox Church, Ansonia, where she was a member of the R-Club, Choir and Sunday School teacher. She was a voracious reader and avid traveler, enjoying many European vacations, cruises, visits to Russia, but her favorite tours were bus trips taken with her siblings. Above all things, Ms. Statkevich was devoted to her family and will be long remembered for her special love for all her nieces and nephews. She is survived by a devoted sister, Helen Kosowsky of Shelton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Pawchyk and a brother, John Statkevich. Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM, Meeting Directly at Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 12, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
