Obituary of Mary Ann Peden
Mary Ann Peden, 87, a beloved resident of Ansonia, peacefully embraced eternal rest on August 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving children at Griffin Hospital. She joins her parents, Henry Brenia and Mary Prochopchyk, and her sister Helen Wasilewski, in the embrace of the hereafter. Mary's legacy lives on through her loving children: Jack Scanlon (Elizabeth), Helen Robinson (William), Susan Howie, Steven Scanlon, and Alec Peden (Jessica). She leaves behind a tapestry of love, encompassing six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who held a special place in her heart.
For over 25 dedicated years, Mary served as a waitress, with most of her time gracing the tables of Connie's Restaurant in Derby. Beyond her work, she found solace in reading, birdwatching, basking in the sun, and passionately supporting her beloved Red Sox. Joyous moments were shared over lunches and shopping sprees with her dear friend Laura. Her spirit thrived as she adorned her home with holiday cheer well in advance, and her faithful "dog" companion was a constant source of comfort.
