Obituary of Mary "Dolly" Uszakiewicz

Mary “Dolly” Uszakiewicz, age 82 of Seymour died peacefully on September 7, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.  Born in Derby on January 8, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary T. Martonak Velleco.   Mrs. Uszakiewicz was raised in Seymour and a graduate of Seymour High School.  She was a baker at the Naugatuck Stop & Shop until the time of her retirement in 2006, she also worked in other stores as needed.  She loved bingo, enjoyed trips to the casinos with her friends, and was an avid NY Yankees fan. She is survived by her cousins, Paul & Rose Giovacchino of Oxford, a special cousin, Judy Renkewith of Seymour, Peter and Lillian Giovacchino of Seymour; several other cousins; and her friend, Bobby Markut of Florida.  She was predeceased by her dear friend, Donna Markut.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Meeting Directly at Church, will be celebrated on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM in the Parish of St. Nicholas – Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour.  Inurnment will follow in Sts.
