Obituary of Genevieve Theresa Adamczyk
Genevieve Theresa Adamczyk, age 98 of Derby, beloved wife of the late Stanley Adamczyk, died peacefully on November 8, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Born in Derby on June 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Ozimek Narowski.
Mrs. Adamczyk was a lifelong resident of Derby and Communicant of St. Michael Church. She was employed as a seasonal worker for National School Studios – Lifetouch, and later retired from Teledyne Manufacturing Co. in 1985. Mrs. Adamczyk was an easygoing, sweet and gentle soul and these traits endeared her to many. She enjoyed Duchess hotdogs, a good cup of coffee and sweet treats. Always up for a challenge, Mrs. Adamczyk was an avid puzzler and obtained her driver’s license later in life. In her senior years, she enjoyed TV medical dramas, game shows and bingo. She will be long remembered for her special love for her family.
She is survived by her devoted children, Wanda Macedo of Norwalk, Ann Marie (Keith) Minnigerode of Florida and Michael (Karen) Adamczyk of Florida; cherished grandchildren, Colleen Macedo, Jimmy (Chelsea) Macedo, Victoria Adamczyk, Michael (Audree) Adamczyk and LTJG Ryan Minnigerode, USN; a cousin, Helen Stankevitch, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 57 years, she was predeceased by son-in-law, James Macedo; brothers, Dr. John J. Narowski, Stanley, Edward, and Roman “Ray” Narowski; sisters, Dr. Cecelia Narowski and Mary Grabarz, RN, and sister-in-law, Stanislawa “Stella” Psuja.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
