Obituary of Edward William Nemec
Edward William Nemec, age 86 of Ansonia, beloved husband of the late RoseEllen Mann Nemec, died peacefully on March 23, 2024 at the Hewitt Health and Rehab Center, Shelton. Born in Stratford on February 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Palenchar Nemec. Mr. Nemec was raised in Stratford, a 1956 graduate of Stratford High School and was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Nemec worked as a millwright technician for General Electric, Bond St., Bridgeport for over 30 years, until the time of his retirement in 2003. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fly fishing and tying his own ornate flies, gardening, bird watching and photography. Together with wife, RoseEllen, Ed enjoyed traveling to destinations including areas of Europe and Hawaii. He also took many memorable family vacations to Walt Disney World (where he would admire the lush gardens and topiaries) and to Bethany Beach, Delaware. Ed was a passionate dog trainer and was most proud of his prized Rottweilers. He is survived by his devoted sons, Christopher Nemec and his wife, Deanna of Ansonia and Adam Nemec and his wife Jaime of Meriden; a sister, Betty Kubicko of CO; cherished grandchildren, Cassidy and Gillian Nemec of Ansonia and Madison and Maxwell Nemec of Cheshire; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his spouse of over 65 years, he was predeceased by sisters, Annamay Bogdani, Rita Prusasky, Bea Nemec, Julie Pallier, Marty Nemec and Al Nemec. Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place at 6:30 PM, interment will be private.
