Obituary of Stephen Mudry
Mudry- Stephen Mudry, age 90, beloved husband of Mary Helena Doros Mudry of Ansonia, died April 12, 2010 in the Hospital of St. Raphael. Born in Ansonia on November 30, 1919, he was the son of the late George and Margaret Ulas Mudry. Mr. Mudry was a lifelong resident of Ansonia and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He worked as a carpenter until the time of his retirement. He will be long remembered for his passion of gardening. His prized dahlias were featured in many shows and competitions in NY and New England, winning over 200 ribbons. He was the feature of many articles in the Evening Sentinel and the New Haven Register. Mr. Mudry donated rare floral species and coxcombs to Osbornedale State Park's Kellogg Estate to be used in their annual Christmas decorations. In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by his devoted sons, Stephen Mudry, Jr. and his wife, Lynn of Waterbury and George Mudry and his wife Lynn of Hamden. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 9:15 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia, at 10:00 AM. Interment with Full Military Honors will directly follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
