Obituary of Marlene Violet Mikita
Marlene Violet Mikita, age 87, beloved wife of Stanley S. Mikita II of Ansonia, died peacefully on April 15, 2024 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Bridgeport on December 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Violet Belinsky Quinn. Mrs. Mikita was raised in Stratford and has been an Ansonia resident since 1962. She worked as a medical assistant and office manager for Dr.’s Stier & Purpora, Dr. Dreznick and lastly Dr. Lanzi, until the time of her retirement in 1996. Mrs. Mikita was the family matriarch, always putting the needs of others before her own as she cared for her family and her siblings. She raised her grandson Stanley Mikita, and her greatest joy was spending quality time with her grandchildren as they made memorable trips to the mall, movies and toy stores as well as vacations and their many, many sleepovers. In addition to her husband of 67 years, she is survived by her devoted children, James W. Mikita and his wife, Nancy, William G. Mikita and his wife Linda and Marlene V. Lanzaro and her husband, Gary (Who were honored to give her the loving care that she deserved for almost 8 years.) all of Ansonia; her cherished grandchildren, Stanley S. Mikita IV of Waterbury, Lisa M. Cordone of Milford, James W. Mikita, Jr. and his wife Danielle of Ansonia, Timothy J. Mikita of Seymour, William G. Mikita, II and his wife Heather of Waterbury, David P. Mikita of Norwalk and Michelle L. Mikita of Ansonia; great-grandchildren, Cooper J. Cordone, James W. Mikita III, Adrienne C. Mikita and William G. Mikita III; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mikita was predeceased by a son, Stanley S. Mikita III and five brothers.
