It was a pleasure to have know Lester. I was a "rookie" at the Rocky Point School District when he and I became friends. Lester and I would play racquet ball at SUNY Stony Brook, he would recruit me to look for stranded turtles on the north shore beaches, get me playing tennis at WHB in the winter, and had me join Okeanos to help with the Whale watching. Then there were the happy hours on Fridays. Thanks Lester for the good memories. You'll be missed!

I will miss my "Uncle" Les. It has been many years since we lived across the street in Rocky Point but I have many fond memories growing up with the Kiehn family. I still remember Christmas morning breakfasts at our house and whale watching and learning about all of the knowledge he had about everything!! My thoughts and prayers are with Desi, Lester and Sabrina and he will live on in my memories..

A wonderful friend; a brilliant colleague; a great person to be around. His humor was infectious and his puns ... we called them "Lesisms" and they, and he, will be sorely missed.

Les was a good friend and a good man. I missed him when he moved to CT. He was always very kind to Joseph, often taking him out to Okeanos in Hampton Bays. He was intelligent and most knowledgeable out the world of nature.I remember one time he came into my 5th grade class in his Park Ranger suit. You would think "Smokey the Bear" was there in person. Thanks, Les, for the fond memories. Ann

Uncle Lester was very important to me. He knew Breezy Point and my husband, David Ericson probably better than I did. He will always have a special place in my heart. DPE
