Bob and I were classmates at Massapequa H.S., teammates in track, but also one of my best friends. It wasn't until recently that I learned of Bob's passing as we're preparing for our 50th reunion. Along with Charlie DeLise, Bob and I were called the awesome threesome as shot putters. We never knew who was going to come in first, but we usually swept the top 3 spots at our meets. However, Bob stood alone as a discus thrower. He was a very gifted athlete but more so a good friend and a really good guy. We talked about 15 years ago, and now I'm sorry we didn't stay in closer contact. Condolences to his family and I know he will be forever missed.

Dear Ronda, Bob, Shae and Skye: Those who have lost a parent and grandparent know how you feel, how tough it is right now, but how it turns to joy when you recollect all the good things you remember about him. Take heart, and enjoy the memories, laugh at the funny times you had, and share it with everyone. That is what he leaves you, and let those memories lift up your hearts. That is what he'd want, I'm sure. Be well. Bob Antaramian

Bob and I along with Pete Haffner, and Matt Schimmenti were on the Manhattan College Track Team..we called each other "Lou" ever since..long story about that..Bob was Penn Relays champion, and holder of the Discus record at Manhattan for a very long time. He touched everyone who knew him. He had the greatest smile, the keenest wit, and an incredible intellect. Everything he did he did well, especially making friends. We have always kept somewhat in touch. I already miss him terribly and it is hard to think I will not be able to laugh with him again..until sometime in the hereafter. See you Lou!

My wife Vikki and I loved Bob dearly and share our condolences to Ronda, Sean, and all of his family and friends. He was my dear friend for over 25 years. He was one of the most sensitive and thoughtful people I have ever known. We talked for hours about life and spirituality. His intelligence and humor were irresistible, and our visits were always too short. He loved his family and his friends. We were on different coasts, but anytime we talked it was as if we had seen each other the day before. There was a magical continuity to our friendship. Having Bob leave life this early is like having Mount Gibraltar suddenly disappear. He leaves a big hole. I can hear his voice and his laughter and see his smile even now, and I'll miss him for the rest of my life. I know we are eternal, and will look forward to our eventual reunion.

"...and in the end, it's not the years in a life, it's the life in the years."(Abraham Lincoln) To me the measure of success is not what we have amassed over time, there are better metrics we can apply. It is what we gave. I think it is all about what we leave behind - our friendships, our families, our good deeds, and our good name - it is our reputations... and the positive impact we've had on the lives of others, which demonstrates the kind of life we've built into all of those years. Bob gave much to this world. I thank the Lord for allowing me to have known Bob for as many years as I did. He is a friend my wife and I cannot and will not forget. Our sincerest sympathies go out to his entire family. I'm sure you are all proud of him.

Bob and I met in 1997 when he showed up for an interview at Oxford Health Plans in Norwalk wearing a gorgeous Armani suit. Suffice to say there wasn’t a lot of Armani on the Post Road near exit 13 in 1997 – he made an unbelievably impressive appearance and got a lot of attention from everyone we passed in the building. I recall his words to me, whispered on our way upstairs, were,I feel like an investment banker. I was fortunate to work with Bob on a number of other engagements since then. He was generous of spirit, brilliant, had a wonderful sense of humor, and had the ability to laugh at himself. He spoke of his kids often and with tremendous love and affection. He was so proud of his grandchildren- he was so excited when the twins were born and was the same when later his grandson and baby granddaughter were born. He always had photos of his grandchildren and needed no encouragement to show them to anyone. He spoke often of his family on Long Island and would joke that you couldn’t go very far on Long Island without running into a Steigerwald. While we were colleagues at work we also became friends; when my life took various dips and turns Bob was a very supportive resource for me. He was able to use his own life experience, different as it was from mine, to reassure me that things would be better. He was always right. Professionally Bob was a pioneer in web marketing from the internet’s earliest stages, but he was so modest and self effacing that he rarely talked about his accomplishments. I took great pleasure in doing that for him with potential clients whenever the opportunity arose. Bob loved his life, and he adored his family and friends. He did not have enough time here in this world but he touched so many people and he is leaving a legacy in both his personal and professional life that will last forever. No one who ever knew Bob will ever forget him, he was that special. My thoughts and prayers are with Bob’s family and with those closest to him. May his memory be for a blessing.
