Obituary of Stephania Cirkot
CIRKOT-Stephania Cirkot, age 87, beloved wife of Stephen Cirkot of Shelton, died April 26, 2011 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Ansonia on April 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Rotko Nyszczot. Mrs. Cirkot was a 1941 graduate of Ansonia High School and played on the girl's basketball team. She was lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church where she was active in the Choir, Women's Club and St. Helen's Society, as well as the Beta Sigma Gamma Girls. Raising her daughters, Mrs. Cirkot was an active Girl Scout leader, member of the Ferry School PTA, and the SHS Band Parents. She participated in the LaSallette Missions Club and the Shelton Senior Center. In addition to her husband of 68 years, she is survived by her devoted daughters, Carol Ann Stumpf and her husband, Joseph of ME, and Sylvia Marie Foster and her husband, Frederick of FL; a sister, Helen Flood of Seymour; and cherished grandsonS, Stephen Joseph Stumpf and Joseph "Jay" Stumpf. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.
