Obituary of Lillian Praskevich

PRASKEVICH- Lillian Praskevich, age 91, of Ansonia, died peacefully on August 27, 2011 surrounded by her family at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, Seymour. Born in Bellefonte, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Anastasia Kocio Praskevich. Ms. Praskevich was a life long Ansonia resident and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. She worked as a seamstress for many years and enjoyed gardening and yard work. A lover of animals, she was the caretaker of many pets through the years. Ms. Praskevich was a talented crafter participating in many craft shows over the years and will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She is survived by a brother, Andrew Praskevich of Seymour, a sister, Mary Praskevich of Ansonia; nieces, Janet J. Cerritelli of Ansonia, Elizabeth A. Spurlock and her husband, William of GA, Andrea Walls and her husband, Dan of CA; Barbara Kearney and her husband, Michael of Seymour, Patricia Praskevich of Seymour and Linda Buckner and her husband, Dan of Seymour; as well as several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Praskevich was predeceased by a sister, Ann Cerritelli and brothers, William and Michael Praskevich. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM, prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Preservation fund.
