Obituary of William Odoy

ODOY- William K. Odoy, age 102, of Ansonia, beloved husband of the late Anna Smierciak Odoy, died October 4, 2011 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Seymour on April 21, 1909, he was the son of the late Michael and Katherine Sudzik Odoy. Mr. Odoy worked as a production Manager for the Seymour Products Co., for many years until his retirement in 1962. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Ansonia, where he was active in the Men's Club and the Seymour Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his devoted sons, Bernard Odoy and his wife Mary of FL, Edwin Odoy and his wife Alice of Derby and William Odoy of Ansonia; grandchildren, Bernard, Patrick and Ann Marie Odoy, Monica Swanson, Alison Kral and Audrey Douglas; as well as 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Agnes Setaro and brothers, John and Joseph Odoy. Funeral services will take place from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated art 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 32 Jewett St., Ansonia. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church.
