Obituary of Gregory Kudej SR.

KUDEJ- Gregory M. Kudej, Sr., age 71, beloved husband of Veronica Egan Kudej of Ansonia, died January 4, 2012 at the CT Hospice, Branford. Born in Shelton on February 23, 1940, he was the son of the late Stanley and Cecylia Pczonka Kudej. Mr. Kudej was a lifelong member of St. Michael Church and U.S. Army Veteran serving in Panama from 1962-64. He worked as a meter inspector for the Bridgeport Hydraulic Co. for 35 years, until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Post 1562 of Derby and enjoyed gardening and maintaining his yard. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Carolyn Tupy and her husband, Jeffrey of Waterbury, Gregory Kudej, Jr. and his wife, Marta of Seymour and Robert Kudej of Ansonia; brothers, Stanley, Michael and Chester Kudej, all of Shelton; cherished grandchildren, Lyndsey Tupy, Logan and Benjamin Kudej; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Ave., Derby at 10:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Sunday, January 8, 2012, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
