Obituary of Russell Lund
LUND- Russell C. Lund, Sr., age 66, beloved husband of Phyllis Papa Lund of Trumbull, died June 13, 2012 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Bridgeport, CT on March 19, 1946, he was the son of the late Harry and Angela Denesha Lund. Mr. Lund was a 1964 graduate of Masuk High School and a resident of Trumbull for 37 years. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. Returning from his military service, Mr. Lund began his career at Sikorsky Aircraft as a Stock Clerk and continued to advance in the company, finally retiring as a Manager of Government Properties Inventory in 2011, following 42 years of employment. He enjoyed listening to jazz music while spending time on his boat "Chapter II", both at Milford Harbor and East End Yacht Club, but his passion was his family. Together with his wife, he raised and educated his children, often visited Rhode Island, as well as, traveled to islands in the Caribbean, and found great joy as a grandfather. A genuine, good hearted individual, he was always available to help others in need. In addition to his wife of 43 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Cheryl Zeoli and her husband, Michael of Hopewell Junction, NY and Russell C. Lund, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Shelton; cherished grandchildren Michael, Kyle and Brandon Zeoli, Abbie Lund and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial, MEETING DIRECTLY AT CHURCH, will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia.
