Obituary of John Horoschak
HOROSCHAK- John Horoschak, Jr., age 82, of Denton, MD, formerly of Shelton, died February 7, 2008, in Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, MD. He was the beloved husband of Ann Ragalye Horoschak of MD. Born in Shelton on January 15, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Julia Smarz Horoschak, Sr. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. His tour of duty was in the Pacific Theater with the 13th Air Force. He flew 22 bomber missions with the 307 Bomber Group receiving the Air Medal and 10 Battle Stars. Returning home in 1946 he attended the Junior College of CT and was employed with the Underwood Corp. Mr. Horoschak was eventually promoted to Tool Design Manager. He left CT in 1979 moving to Easton, MD. There he accepted the position of Mfg. Project Engineer at Black & Decker. Retiring in 1992, together with his wife toured the U.S. in a motor home for nine years, racking up a total of nine coast to coast trips. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his former spouse, Charlotte Easter Deming of MA; daughters, Barbara Fournier of RI and Betty Kearns of CA; step-sons, David Lascko of MD and Mark Lascko of Thomaston; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren He was predeceased by a son John Horoschak III; a daughter, Beverly Brooks; and a sister, Mary Dolyak. Funeral services will take place from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia at 11:00 AM. Springtime interment with full military honors will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.
