Obituary of John Varcas

VARCAS- John Varcas, age 85 of Wolcott, formerly of Ansonia, beloved husband of the late Rose Beury Varcas, died January 11, 2010 in the Paradigm Health care Center, Prospect. Born in Liverpool, England on May 28, 1924, he was the son of the late Gregorio and Elvira Varcas. Mr. Varcas was both a Royal Navy and Royal Army Veteran of WWII, serving for the United Kingdom. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1967and resided in Ansonia for 35 years. He worked as a carpet and flooring contractor until the time of his retirement. He is survived by his devoted son, Greg Varcas and his wife, Linda of Wolcott and cherished grandchildren, Courtney and Alec Varcas of Wolcott. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sons, Mark and Carl Varcas and a brother, George Varcas. Funeral services are private.
