Obituary of Karl Brinkmann
Karl A. Brinkmann, age 74, beloved husband of Mariana Castro Brinkmann of Ansonia, died peacefully March 4, 2013, at the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven. Born on March 6, 1938 in Einbeck, Germany, he was the son of the late Wilhelm and Anna Holshausen Brinkmann. Mr. Brinkmann immigrated to the U.S. in 1966 and has since been a Valley resident. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Brinkmann worked as a machinist for 29 years with U.S. Baird Co. of Stratford, until his retirement in 2003. In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by his devoted daughters, Anna (Gregory) Wines and Maria Brinkmann; son, Karl Brinkmann; cherished grandchildren, Annisa and Gregory Wines, Jr., and Lexi Brinkmann, all of Ansonia; a brother, Dieter (Elfrieda) Brinkmann of Germany; and sister, Dogmar Richter of Chicago, IL. Mr. Brinkmann was predeceased by five brothers and sisters. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on, Saturday, March 9, 2013 in St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth Street, Derby, CT.
