Obituary of Frank Caruso
Frank T. Caruso, age 89, of Manchester, formerly of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Josephine M. Creatore Caruso, died April 17, 2013 at Manchester Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Bronx, NY on September 23, 1923, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Costantino Caruso. Mr. Caruso was a longtime resident of Stratford and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He worked as a Production Manager for the Milford Automatics Co. for approximately 35 years before his retirement in 1983. Following his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed 15 years living in the Catskill Mountains of NY, where he belonged to the VFW. Mr. Caruso then returned to Stratford in 1998 and then moved to Manchester in 2007. He was a one time Eastern Seaboard Duck Pin Bowling Champion, an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed memorable trips to Disney World with his grandchildren. He is survived by his devoted children, Maria (Charles) Tishue of WV, Carmen (David) Brown of WV, Joseph Caruso and his Fiancé, Kayleen Krug of Fairfield, and Michele (Kenneth) Doiron of Manchester; a brother, Arthur Caruso of Milford; cherished grandchildren, Christopher Tishue of WV, Taylor Kate Brown of Washington D.C., Joseph and Ryan Caruso, both of Shelton; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of 51 years, he was predeceased by a brother, Carmen Caruso, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Korean War and was never recovered. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Holy Rosary Church, Father salemi Dr., Ansonia. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
