Obituary of Becky Ann Strode

STRODE – Becky Ann Strode, age 50, of Ansonia, beloved companion of Christopher S. Hughes of Ansonia, died September 22, 2014 at Griffin Hospital. Born in New Haven on October 8, 1963, she was the daughter of Carl Strode of Derby and the late Catherine Pozilitis Strode. Ms. Strode graduated from Naugatuck High School and was a long time resident of Ansonia. She worked at the Dollar Tree store of Derby as a cashier; previously employed as CNA at Shady Knoll Health Center and Southbury Training School. She was an avid music lover and talented author of many short stories. She generously volunteered her time for Special Olympics and will be long remembered for her special love for her family. In addition to her father and companion, she is survived by her devoted sons, Ryan M. (Alexandra Bergstrom) Lowe of Prospect and Christopher J. (Rebecca Talbot) Hughes of Ansonia; a sister, Katherine Reilly of Seymour; a brother, Wayne Strode of Oxford; as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be Private. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, prior to the service.
