Obituary of Emilio Nino Cappiello

CAPPIELLO – Emilio “Tony” Cappiello, age 66, beloved husband of the late Maggie Velez Cappiello of Monroe, died peacefully November 18, 2014 with his family by his side. Born in Foggia, Italy on January 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Giovina Bocazio Cappiello. Mr. Cappiello was owner and operator of the family business, Cappiello Contractors – residential builders and remodelers. He enjoyed cooking Italian meals, making homemade wine, traveling, restoring classic cars including vintage Jaguars and in his younger years played soccer. Most of all, Mr. Cappiello was a strong family man who treasured every moment spent with his granddaughters. He was a man of great faith, who belonged to the Monroe Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Tamara Wilson and her husband, Jason of Monroe; cherished granddaughters, Ariana and Ella Wilson of Monroe; Siblings, Matteo Cappiello, Erminia Cappiello, Gina Strazzulo, Lina Santangeli, Anna Montanaro, Maria Bevilacqua, Grace Chesto, Lou Cappiello, and Theresa Culp; and his dearest in-laws and best friends, Nydia and Michael Sape of Stratford. In addition to his beloved wife of 43 years, he was predeceased by a sister, Antoinetta Fricchione and a brother, Frank Cappiello. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 12:30 to 3:30 PM with a talk held at 12:45 PM in The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
