Obituary of Peter Demanchyk
DEMANCHYK-Peter Demanchyk, age 89, beloved wife of Barbara Zubyk Demanchyk of Prospect, died May 20, 2008 in Waterbury Hospital. Born in Ansonia on October 18, 1918, he was the son of the late Theodore and Anna Katz Demanchyk. Mr. Demanchyk was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and worked as a Production Supervisor for the Farrel Corp. for 45 years, until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the V.F.W. In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by a daughter, Joan Barbara Kelly and her husband, Timothy of Prospect; sisters, Helen Brazuk of MA, Ann Mellish, Lillian Zakaluk and Ruth Job, all of FL; granddaughters, April Deller and her husband, Jordan of Naugatuck and Ashley Kalaus and her fianc, Brian Mariano of Naguatuck; and great-granddaughters, Haley and Aubrey Deller of Naugatuck. He was predeceased by brothers, Stephen and John Demanchyk and sisters, Mary Kaptik and Julia Derflinger. Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
