Obituary of Helen Sokol

Sokol- Helen Sokol, age 97 of Ansonia, wife of the late Stephen Sokol, died June 30, 2008, in the Lutheran Home, Southbury. Born in Jersey City, NJ on February 16, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Antonia Kuylk Hlywa. Mrs. Sokol was a life long resident of Ansonia and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, as well as the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Aux. and the Shelton Senior Center. She was employed by the Schick- Warner Lambert Co. for over 15 years before retiring in 1975. Mrs. Sokol is survived by her devoted son, Stephen Sokol and his wife, Mary of Oxford and daughter, Hope Haatch and her husband, David of NV; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia at 10:30 AM. Interment will directly follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
