Obituary of Georgette Theresa Doucette

Georgette Theresa Doucette, age 92 of Derby, beloved wife of the late Joseph Doucette, died peacefully at home on October 9, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born in Fall River, MA on August 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Aurora Lemay Charest. Mrs. Doucette was a longtime resident of Derby and worked as an inspector for the Shick Safety Razor Co. for over 20 years, before her retirement in 1988. She was homemaker, enjoyed gardening and crocheting as well as spending time with her family. She is survived by her devoted sons, William Doucette of Beacon Falls, Albert Doucette of Darien, Dennis (Lynn) Doucette of Hamden and Michael (Jennifer Starkey) Doucette of Guilford; sisters, Pauline Omen of IN, and Margaret Fennelly of RI; brothers, Edward (Elsie) Charest of FL, and Bertrand (Ann) Charest of MA; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. In addition to her husband of over 50 years, Mrs. Doucette was predeceased by a son, Paul Doucette, grandson, Albert Doucette; sister, Lena Sawill; and brothers, Norman and Lionel Charest.
