I had the priviledge and pleasure of meeting Betty as we planned the 50th celebration of Southern New England Women's Golf Association, of which Betty was a founding member. It was just wonderful to listen to her and her former golfing gals reminisce about their days on the links and the friendships they enjoyed. We are grateful for her foresight and dedication to our organization and a game we all love. An inspiration to us all. Gale Lemieux

I love you Aunt Betty. I am far away in Sydney, Australia but you are never far away from my thoughts. God speed, my lovely "Tom Boy" aunt! Love, Diane

My condolences to Elizabeth's family. I believe that she was my mothers first cousin, Helen Krinitzsky Psomas, who was the daughter of Matthew and Pelagia Krinitzsky and was also born in Mystic. She passed away in 1966 and the connection to her side of the family was gone. It would appear that Elizabeth had a long and interesting life. I will say a prayer. Richard Psomas Longwood, Florida

Several years ago I had the pleasure and privledge of playing in a tournment with Betty at Indian Hills CC. Betty & I are both members of IHCC, but never crossed paths. I will always remember that day. She was so much fun to play with, still had a game, and made the day a real pleasure. She was a great role model and I am sure touched many lives along her journal of life. She will be missed by all of us at Indian Hill

I worked with Betty at Teachers Retirement. One spring she brought me in some Bee Balm for my garden at the campground. She really loved this plant. I still have Bee Balm in my garden at home and everytime I look at it I think of Betty. She was a great lady and was very much loved. She also showed me how to carry my Tee in my Glove.

I met Betty in July 1970, fresh out of college, and starting my first job with the Connecticut Teachers’ Retirement Board. Betty made an indelible impression on me, probably because of our age difference and the generation gap. She was, as they say, “old school, and ultimately that’s what I learned to become- high quality standards and service to our clients - a concept that is foreign to most of us in today’s world. Betty was always firm and consistent in her beliefs and held everyone accountable to high standards and performance. She was extremely meticulous to a fault. When she did an account audit of a teacher’s account, I was always confident that it was done right. What you saw was what you got. If she had an issue, she would take it head on. Back then Betty was also in charge of the agency’s supplies etc. Her philosophy was –“if you don’t need it, you don’t get. It and you had to make your case (she actually checked pencils sizes to see if you needed one). She ran a tight ship and I always said that if Betty were ever governor, we would never have had run-away spending and tax increases like we do now. Most of her colleagues would agree that she was hard on the outside, but soft of the in-side. She had her rules and principles and expected everyone to abide by them. She was always patient and understanding and never held a grudge- something you don’t see in today’s work environment. I was hoping that she would be able to attend the TRB Christmas party in December, along with many other TRB retirees and friends. Unfortunately, Betty won’t be there, but she will remain in our memory as a good friend who left this world a better place. Bill Sudol

Betty was an important part of my life growing up because she was my Aunt Sally's best friend! Friday nights I knew that they were coming over and we would have a blast! Games talking or just watching Rockford Files. I last saw her at Aunt Sally's Service and was gratefull that she could make it! She will be missed. My sympathy to all of you, Sue
