Obituary of Evelyn Kociaba
Evelyn Kociaba, age 89, of Ansonia, died January 8, 2009 in Griffin Hospital, Derby. Born in Ansonia on December 25, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Maria Medak Kociaba. Miss Kociaba was a lifelong Ansonia resident and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and the Sts. Peter and Paul Society Club. She worked as a book keeper for the former B.F. Goodrich and F. Hallock Companies until her retirement. Miss Kociaba is survived by a nephew, Andrew Gregory of Ansonia as well as nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Seritella, Mary Alice Gregory, Sarah May, William Kociaba and many great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a family friend, Vincent Verrette of Ansonia. Miss Kociaba was predeceased by sisters, Ann Gregory, Helen and Mary Kociaba and brothers Nicholas, Andrew, John, and Metro Kociaba. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 9:15 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Parastas Service will be held at 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Springtime interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.
