Obituary of Danny Williams
WILLIAMS-Danny Austin Williams, age 62, of Monroe, died January 20, 2009 in the Ocshner Medical Center, New Orleans, LA. Born in Bridgeport on May 17, 1946, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Grace Mather Williams. Mr. Williams was a life long area resident, a graduate of Bunnell High School and the Silvermine Art School. He first worked as a dog trainer and breeder specializing in the Doberman and Rottweiler breeds; as well as a jewelry designer and maker. Danny was a national award winning tattoo artist, owning and operating the "Bridgeport Tattoo Shop" for more than 25 years. His work was featured in countless magazines such as "Skin and Ink", "Tattoo Magazine", "Outlaw Biker Tattoo Revue" and "Skin Art". He was ranked as one of the top 10 tattoo artists in the nation. His passion for his art was apparent in many magazine feature articles as well as TV Show appearances including "The Geraldo Show" and "The Lone Wolf Show". Danny was a member of the National Tattoo Association, Miamogue Yacht Club and was an original founding member of the Bridgeport Chapter of the Huns Motorcycle Club, known as "Nomad". He is survived by his devoted daughter, Marisa Louise Daniel of Monroe; sisters, Penny Longway of Bridgeport, Sandra Jacobson of Stratford, and Linda Winkler of Stratford; as well as his beloved girlfriend and soul mate, Susan Guliuzza of Ansonia, whom he fondly referred to as his "Guardian Angel". Funeral services will take place on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 4:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM, prior to the service.
