Obituary of Michael McCarthy
McCARTHY- Michael Joseph McCarthy, age 52, beloved husband of Michelle "Mickie" Park McCarthy of Ansonia, died suddenly on February 19, 2009. Born in Bridgeport on December 3, 1956, he was the son of the late Kenneth M. and Marie T. Antal McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy was a 1974 graduate of Ansonia High School and for 31 years worked as a truck driver for the Petruzzello Transport Co. He was a true blue NY Yankees Fan, an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed camping and hunting and together with his wife and best friend, Mickie, sailed many Caribbean cruises and trips to the islands. He will be long remembered for his special loving relationship he shared with his wife and children, and his fun-loving personality that endeared many to him. He was always the last to leave a party! In addition to his wife of 27 years, he is survived by his cherished children of whom he was so proud, Morgan K. McCarthy of Boston, MA and Kyle M. McCarthy of Ansonia, a devoted brother, Kevin J. McCarthy of Maryland; father-in-law, Joseph Park of Shelton; 3 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews; as well as many, many friends. A celebration of Michael's life will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, meeting directly in the First Congregational Church of Ansonia, 44 South Cliff St., Ansonia, at 10:00 AM Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Monday, February 23, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia.
