Obituary of Nikolla Tanellari

Nikolla Tanellari, age 85 of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Fona Nishku Tanellari, died peacefully on May 22, 2019 at Griffin Hospital.  Born on June 13, 1933 in Nice, Albania, he was the son of the late Risto and Elena Mengri Tanellari.  Mr. Tanellari worked as a laborer for the maintenance department of the city of Nice, Albania for over 40 years, until the time of his retirement.  In 2015, he immigrated to the U.S. and settled in Seymour to reside with his family.  He is survived by his devoted children, Gjergji (Florenca) Tanellari of Seymour, Marita Spirollari of Greece and Mirela (Kostandin) Kokoneshi of Italy; six cherished grandchildren, Ervis, Elena and Arjola Tanellari, all of Seymour and Dorian, Krseldi and Mikel Spirollari, all of Greece; as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife of 51 years, he was predeceased by a brother, Petro Tanellari; and sisters, Nastasi Papa, Naunka Mara, Parashrevi Geri, Athina Bulli, and Aleksandra Divjaka.  Family and friends may call at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
