Obituary of Adaline Pekar
Adaline Pekar, age 97, beloved wife of the late Albert S. Pekar, died on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center, Shelton. She was a resident of Trumbull for 60 years. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna Pulley. Mrs. Pekar was born in Bridgeport on August 12, 1922. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1940 and later graduated from Butler Business School. She worked for Dr. Stuart Miller and the late Dr. Robert Doering. She was past president of the Long Hills Mother’s Club and a member of the St. Theresa Seniors. She was most loved by her family and friends. Her sense of humor always made everyone laugh. She was quick to turn a frown into a smile. Mrs. Pekar is survived by her cherished daughter, Patricia Sullivano and her husband, Joseph of Shelton; granddaughter, Catherine Murray and her husband, Eric of Monroe; grandson, Joseph W. Sullivano of Shelton; sisters, Georgette Murray of Oregon and Muriel Collins of Fairfield; and brother, Dr. George Pulley and wife, Connie of Trumbull. She is also blessed with three great grandchildren whom she adored, Erica, Samantha and Maxwell Murray, all of Monroe, and several loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sister, Charlotte Pond. The family gives special thanks to the staff at Bishop Wicke for their loving care and support, and to St. Theresa’s support for Addie and her family, and special thanks to MaryJo Pranger for her many visits during her stay at Bishop Wicke. A Mass of Christian Burial, meeting directly at church, will be celebrated at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 4, 2020, in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, CT. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
