Obituary of Cathi Anne Silva

Cathi Anne Silva, age 26 of Shelton, died on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Fairfield, CT as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on I-95. Born in Bridgeport on May 23, 1994 to Spring May Wilburn of Pennsylvania and Robert Anthony Silva of Texas. Cathi attended Shelton High School and Regional Center for the Arts of Trumbull, graduating in 2012. She then went on to pursue her dream at Paul Mitchell Academy of North Haven and became a licensed hairdresser. Since graduating, she has worked as a senior hair stylist at Hair in Fairfield, CT for numerous years. The two biggest loves of her life were Brian Gamse and her fur baby Jade. In addition to her parents, Cathi was very much loved by her sister, Danyelle Blaskewicz; brother-in-law, James Blaskewicz; her nephew, Jackson Blaskewicz; John Meade, Joseph Kassas, Joy Iodice, Mary-Lu Cordisco and extended family. Cathi was adored by her many friends especially Kathryn Greaves, Lianne and Corey Reese, PJ Burke, Billy Mann, Becca Camp, Taylor Nicholson and Carlee Erickson. Being a hair stylist was Cathi’s greatest passion. Cathi loved making everyone feel as beautiful on the outside as they were on the inside. There is no length that she wouldn’t go to make someone smile. Cathi had many great achievements including hairdressing and colorist awards from Matrix and L’Oréal. Art and music were the fibers of her life and Cathi could always be found at a music festival with her friends living the “gypsy” life or at home hula-hooping to her favorite songs. She had a way of making anyone smile, especially when they needed to the most. Cathi has left a handprint on the lives of everyone she has touched and will not be forgotten. Family and friends may call on Friday, July 31, 2020, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, for a walk through visitation at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
