Obituary of Ida Antoinette Porretti

Ida Antoinette Porretti, age 95 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Porretti, died peacefully on August 31, 2020 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.  Born on December 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Lino and Benta Pires Preiro.  Mrs. Porretti was a long time Bridgeport resident before moving to Fairfield and then to Ansonia 9 years ago.  She worked as a house keeper and laundry attendant for the Hampton Inn hotel of Milford for 15 years, until the time of her retirement.  She was a member of the Vasco deGama Club of Bridgeport, an avid reader and great cook; but she will be long remembered for her special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Beverly (Freddie) Taylor of Ansonia; grandchildren, Frank Porretti of Ansonia, Jeffrey Porretti of Ansonia, Gary LaRiviere of Bridgeport and Michelle (Fred Wilkins) LaRiviere of Bristol; great-grandchildren, Talya (Juan Mena) Porretti of PA, Angelina Gambino of Bristol, and Chase Wilkins of Bristol.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen LaRiviere, and sisters, Esther Manchero and Alice Vaccaro.  Funeral services and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull are private.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia is in care of arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Swim Across the Sound, St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
