Obituary of Freddie Lee Taylor

Freddie Lee Taylor, age 64, beloved husband of Beverly Porretti Taylor of Ansonia, died peacefully on June 25, 2021 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.  Born in Bridgeport on December 17, 1956, he was the son of the late Freddie Holmes and Katherine Turner.  Mr. Taylor was raised in Bridgeport and was a talented athlete in high school where he played basketball and football.  He would also play basketball at the Boys Club and became an amateur boxer.  In his early years, Mr. Taylor worked for B&D Produce and for the Pathmark Supermarket, both of Bridgeport.  He then worked for Stop & Shop of Fairfield in the bakery department and as a store porter. Lastly, Mr. Taylor was employed as a houseman for the Hampton Inn of Milford.  In addition to his wife of 34 years, he is survived by a son, Tory Taylor of L.I., NY; stepsons, Frank and Jeffrey Porretti, both of Ansonia; sisters, Theresa Taylor of FL and Stacey Turner of Norwalk; a niece, Michelle LaRiviere of Bristol; a nephew, Gary LaRiviere of Bridgeport; a cousin, Kimberly (Jerome) Stembridge of NY; as well as 3 grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a brother, Carlton Langston.  Funeral services will be private.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia is in care of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
