Obituary of Barbara L. Pittman

Barbara Lillian Maloney Pittman, age 50, beloved wife of Dwayne M. Pittman of Waterbury, entered eternal rest on July 25, 2021 at St. Mary Hospital, Waterbury.  Born in Derby on May 3, 1971, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Barbara J. (Smith) Maloney. Mrs. Pittman was raised in Ansonia and was employed as a dietary professional and cook for the State of CT.  She worked for many years at the Southbury Training School, Southbury and then at Solnit South Campus, Middletown, until the time of her illness.

She loved the Red Sox, dancing, traveling, hiking, and fishing.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children; Joseph Silva, Dwayne Pittman, Jr., Alexi Pittman, Stasia Pittman and Brandon Maloney – all of Waterbury; grandchildren, Brayden, Mason and Maverick Maloney, and Jeramiah and Ai’yona Pittman; her siblings, Paul (Kierstan) Maloney of Seymour, Debra (Tom) Lambkin of West Haven, and Edward (Lynn) Maloney of PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 PM on Sunday, August 1, 2021 in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:30 PM, prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
