Obituary of Helen Wadyka
WADYKA- Helen Wadyka, age 88, of Milford, wife of the late Walter S. Wadyka, a former lifelong resident of Ansonia, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the comfort of her home. Born in Derby on December 5, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia Guzy Smeider. Mrs. Wadyka worked as a bookkeeper for the former Cavallaro Motors Auto Dealership for 20 years until her retirement in 1987. She was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. She is survived by her devoted children, Cheryl Wadyka and her husband, Patrick Snyder of Milford ; and Walter Wadyka and his wife Annie of West Hartford, cherished granddaughters, Catherine and Amy Wadyka of West Hartford; several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Frank, John, and Andrew Smeider and sisters, Mary and Anna Smeider and Dorothy Sledziona and Stella Menard. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:30 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Wednesday Morning from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.
