Obituary of Virginia Fainer
Virginia “Ginny” Fainer, age 90 of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Edward M. Fainer, died peacefully on October 27, 2021, at Griffin Hospital, with her family by her side. Born in Derby on November 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Anna T. Gido Adzima. Mrs. Fainer was a 1947 graduate of Ansonia High School and worked as a secretary for the Olderman & Hallihan Agency of Ansonia, until the time of her retirement. Ginny was a longtime resident of Shelton, a member of St. Lawrence Church and was often found shopping in her favorite grocery store, Adam’s IGA in the White Hills Plaza. She especially enjoyed her visits to the Image Group Salon of the White Hill Plaza, Shelton, for “girl talk” and a hairdo. Ginny will be long remembered as a devoted wife and mother, always putting the needs of her family above her own. She is survived by a son Edward “Butch” J. Fainer and his companion Anna Nemec of Shelton; her best friends and care givers, Lisa Martinez and Lori Zaleha. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughters, Mary Ann Pillsbury, Carol J. Fainer and a brother, John J. Adzima. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 1:30 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
