Obituary of Virginia Ferencz
Virginia Ferencz, age 95 of Ansonia, wife of the late John P. Ferencz, Sr., died peacefully on October 29, 2021 at the Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center, surrounded by her family. Born in Seymour on November 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Maria Bayusik Novak. Mrs. Ferencz was raised in Seymour and was a graduate of Seymour High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Farrell Co. before managing the books and finances for her family business, the John Ferencz TV Sales & Service, for many years until the time of her retirement. A resident of Ansonia for over 70 years, she was a Communicant of the Church of the Assumption and attended Sts. Peter and Paul Church in her youth. She was a spirited dancer in her younger years, traveling with her husband to dance halls and ballrooms across Connecticut. Mrs. Ferencz was a talented seamstress and skilled rugmaker, hand crafting countless rugs through the years in her rug braiding club, of which she served as treasurer. She traveled extensively with her husband and enjoyed bus trips through the Shelton Senior Center. Above all, she will be long remembered for her special love for her family, always placing the needs of others before her own. Mrs. Ferencz is survived by her devoted children and their spouses, John “Jack” P., Jr. Ferencz of Westport, Robert (Kathleen) Ferencz of Seymour and Thomas (Kim) Ferencz of Bethany; a son-in-law, Roger Weinz of Southington; cherished grandchildren, Michael Weinz, Matthew Ferencz, Kristen and Nicole Ferencz and Christiana Ferencz; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 65 years, she was predeceased by a daughter, Suzanne Weinz; a daughter-in-law, Gayle Ferencz; sisters, Anna Rencsko, Elizabeth Pawlak, Mary Kopchik and Susan Decho. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 12:30 PM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia . A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 PM in the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery , Derby .
