Obituary of Sophie Potter

Sophie Potter passed away on January 1, 2022 at 11:55 pm. She was 95 years old, mentally sharp as ever and at peace with her amazing life “filled with a million good memories.” What was most important to Sophie were her relationships - and she had many - still regularly mailing birthday & Christmas presents, hosting cards in her kitchen and visiting with her 9 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren right up until her last days. And really, these were not her last days. She is a legend. Whose memory will live forever amongst her loved ones. There is so much that can be learned from Sophie. From the large, looming questions like how to live a happy life to the secret ingredients of a Harvey Wallbanger or Black Russian. A remarkable and special person. A knitting machine. Liked and respected by everyone she encountered (except the occasional slow serving waiter). From Brooklyn to Beecher to Wakelee Ave to her apartment downstairs. Kind, thoughtful, honest and stubborn - and most importantly, ours.
