I think of the laugh we had when I said, "things can't get any worse" and you said, "wanna bet?" I know that things are right where they should be now and I can still hear you laugh as you watch us struggle and you bask in the sun.

I will miss hearing Steve's friendly and cheerful voice on my Ham Radio. It always put a smile on my face to hear his call sign (WJ1T) come chiming in on the frequency. It was a pleasure to have known you. Thanks for all of the good conversation. "73" from your old friend. Sam (N1UAI)

I met Steve first on the CB radio and later on Ham radio way back in the early 70's. Saw him many times in person as well. A great guy, upbeat, involved, funny, always a kind word. The world is a lesser place with out him. My prayers are with his family and close friends that knew him and loved him the most. Rest in Peace old friend -we will all be together again some day in a much better place- K1XJ

Rick and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Steve's family and all those who knew and loved him. Steve and I spent many years together on the Thomaston Board of Education and as a result became good friends. He kindly invited us into his home for special family occassions and we had the honor of attending Danny's bar mitzva and a Passover Seder. I will remember him fondly for his dedication, his good humor, and for allowing this Catholic girl a chance to experience the celebrations of his Jewish faith. "Sheh-Elohim Yihyeh Otcha" Steve. Cathy

Selfless, compassionate, intelligent, talented, loving… these are the words that come to mind when I think of Uncle Steve. I’m sad that he has passed, but I am glad that his suffering was limited.

Steve embodied all that is good in this world. With a heart to match his physical stature, he openly gave of himself in whatever capacity to everyone who had the good fortune to know Steve. He never lost his sense of humor no matter what life threw his way. He was a good father, a good friend and above all a good man. I will especially remember the many Valley joy rides we shared in our youth - Michael, Steve and I. You will be greatly missed Steve. Soar high and flap those wings!!

I will miss his familiar voice over the air-waves. Always enjoyed his humor and outlook on life. We all used to love to give him a hard time about his old junky pick-up rattling down the road. He sure got every ounce of life from that old truck. I'm sure that with all of his family and friends and their never ending love and support he enjoyed every ounce of quality from his short life. Will miss you Brother Steve. Masonic Brother and Fellow Ham 73, de KA1W

Steve was an equisitely talented and smart man with a great sense of humor. Many in our family benefited greatly from his seemingly limitless knowledge and abilities - whether fixing our cars, plumbing, electrical fixtures, electronics, carpentry, lawnmowers, scaling roofs and towers to install antennas, or whatever; Steve not only could do these things but he would, always as a favor never expecting anything in return. He personified class; he was a true gentleman. Steve will be terribly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to my sister Marla, my nephew Danny, Marcy and the rest of Steve's family and friends. I will never forget one story about my godfather that my parents have told me many times over the years. It illustrates exactly the kind of man he was. When I was an infant, I was very sensitive to noises and quick movements. I could cry at the drop of a hat, and required a little extra finesse. One day my Uncle Steve came to visit, and my parents put me in my crank-up baby rocker. Every time the seat went back and forth, there was a loud *click* sound made by the crank mechanics. According to the story, every time the chair clicked I would wince and shrug away. Of course, the clicking was like a metronome, and so I was in a constant state of disturbance. Noticing this, and caring so much for me as he did for everyone, Uncle Steve went out and bought me an electric chair that was quiet and smooth. I was a much happier baby from that point on. Thank you, Uncle Steve, for always thinking of me and for loving me so much. I will always remember you as a kind, generous, open-hearted father figure in my life, and I will treasure the love and wisdom you imparted to me forever. You will be dearly missed, not only by me, but by every life you have touched. I love you.
