Don was a dad to me in so many ways, especially in my childhood. Looking back, I feel like he knew I needed him and his family. (That wink) My fondest childhood memories were most often because of him (and mom). NYC, especially the “Yoo-hoo” incident, swimming at pinecrest, skiing (water and snow), sailing, Sunday dinners out with your family when the store closed at 7:00 (was it ponderosa?), snowmobiling, even raking leaves, not to mention (probably shouldn’t but I will) hiding in the back of your store with “magazines” getting much needed “reading” in. Candy cigarettes and melted cheese sandwiches and my first job. When I started my own family I took all that with me to try to be 1/2 the parent he was. I will miss him dearly. I’ll always be here for you. Just 1 call away. Sisters and friends forever!
