Obituary of Anne Samodel

 Anne Samodel, age 99 of Seymour, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, Seymour.  Born in Parksville, NY, on January 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Tessie Pyrih Samodel.  Miss Samodel was a Seymour resident for over 50 years and worked as a data processing clerk for the American Brass Company for 42 years, until the time of her retirement in 1986.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, Post # 1677 of Ansonia. Miss Samodel enjoyed attending events at the Seymour and Derby Senior Centers.  She is survived by a brother, Nicholas Samodel of Shelton; nephews, John Franzis and his wife, Susan of Glastonbury; Patrick Franzis and his wife Cynthia of Naugatuck, nephew-in-law Timothy Juryznski as well as several nieces & nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Franzis and Sophie Samodel; brothers John Samodel, Harry Samodel, Raymond (Terry) Samodel and niece, Kathleen Anne Jurzynski.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Avenue, Ansonia.  Interment will follow in Sts.
