Baba, The very first time I met you, before we even spoke- you pulled me into a deep hug and said " I love you." I have never met someone who had a bigger heart than you. You've raised a beautiful family and left this earth so much richer than you found it. I'm so proud to be the mother of your great grandson and your "adopted" granddaughter. We will always miss you and share your memory with Rowan. Love Always, Marisa

My condolences to your family. Laura and a group of us went to Alaska last year to volunteer the Alaska Nat'l Guard. From reading it's clear Mrs. Bashar was an inspiration.

Dearest Mom, These last few days have been awefully difficult for everyone. We are comforted in knowing that you are again with Dad and your wonderful friends like Emily L, Sue G and Delugos. Joe L. said that you can't go to the casino until he is there to drive you all, so you will have to wait before you can play your slots again. I know you are watching over us now and I hope you LOVED "your" beautiful day yesterday. Peter and I were only 5 minutes late, which meant everything ran smoothly from there. I want you to know that I will make sure your "Butchie" will be taken care of in these difficult days ahead, especially during the holidays. I will miss you then and at my concerts, (especially the way you would brag about "your wonderful daughter-in-law"). I love you so much and can only hope that I can continue the love you spread from generation to generation. I will make you proud as I will someday have the honor of being called "Grandma Bashar", but I know I have some very big shoes to fill, when that day comes. Your love will live on through all that you have taught me - "this is how your Great Grandma Bashar made her nutroll" will be Lesson One to the generations to come. I will remember you in all I do, especially when I sing "Silent Night". You can finally "sleep in heavenly peace". You have touched my heart as you have my children and we can never thank you enough for all you have taught us. I love you and may your memory be eternal - your loving "daughter", Laura XO

Gram, where to begin...you took care of me when I was small, watched me grow, and never missed a birthday party, piano recital or any other special occasion I may have had. You were what a grandmother was all about and so much more. I have faith that you will continue to attend all our family parties, graduations, weddings and all the other milestones we hit in life. When I think of love I think of you because that is exactly what you stood for. You are the strongest, most loving person I've ever known and I am so blessed that I was able to have you be apart of my life for so long. We may have lost a grandmother, but we gained a guardian angel. I love you so much grandma. Thank you for the impact you've made on my life.

I don't even no where to begin. I never thought this day would actually come. You have been such a huge part of my life. Since I was young, you really taught me what life is all about. I remember when I would fake being sick all the time just so I would be able to come spend the day with you, where I would be able to eat unlimited ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cups, bingo candy, raisin bread toast and drink all of your ice tea. No matter what, I always felt safe with you. You are the definition of what a perfect grandmother really is. I am so honored to be your granddaughter. There is not a person in this world like you. You always knew how to make everyone laugh, and put a smile on everybody's faces. The minute you would enter a room, it would just light up. You are so special to me grandma, and thank you for being my best friend.I love you so much, and you will not only be missed by me, but by everybody who has been blessed to have had you in their lives. Heaven just gained a very special angel, and I know grandpa was so happy to see you again. I love you.

Mom, I miss your smile and sense of humor. Who can I tease now? You and I understood each other in an uncanny way. I remember when you wanted me to build you a step stool and I did. Then I told you " If you fall off this I'll take your bingo stamper away". Or the time we took you to Foxwoods and you had the car door open before I stopped the car!
