Obituary of Olga Bashar
BASHAR- Olga B. Bashar, age 94 of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Peter Bashar Jr., went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, November 15, 2010, at the Lord Chamberalin Health Care Center, surrounded by her family. Born in Bridgeport on May 15, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Boris and Serafima (Ermolovich) Bondar. Mrs. Bashar was a lifelong resident of Stratford and member of the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport. Mrs. Bashar worked as an engraver for Sirkorsky Aircraft Corp., until the time of her retirement. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed day trips to the casinos, but her true love was spending time with her family and cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bashar is survived by her devoted children, Carol Nakoneczny and Wayne of Cheshire, Joyce Zaleski and Robert of Shelton, and Peter N. Bashar and Laura of Stratford; also survived by her grandchildren to cherish her memory, Pamela (Brian) Erickson, Scott (Annemarie) Nakoneczny, Christine (Mark) Aimone, Robert (Marisa) Bognar, Nicole, Alyssa, Kristina and Peter Jr, Bashar; along with her ten loving great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, as well as special devoted friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Helen Breyan and nephew, Dr. Nicholas Breyan. Funeral services will take place on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 8:45 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia and 10:00 AM in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, 364 Mill Hill Ave., Bridgeport, for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Thursday, November 18, 2010, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM; Parastas will be held at 6:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Sr. R Club Scholarship Fund.
