Obituary of Mark Keefe
Mark Carmody Keefe, age 43, of Watertown MA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at his home. Born on April 18, 1969, in New Haven, CT, Mark was raised in Woodbridge, CT, the son of the late Jeremiah J. Keefe, Jr., and Jean Tice Keefe, and stepson of Nancy Judd Keefe. Mark was an Eagle Scout with Troop 7 in Woodbridge. He graduated from Amity High School, class of 1987, and Providence College, class of 1991. He worked in Boston for many years at John Hancock, MFS, The Hartford, and Mass Mutual Insurance Co. as a Financial Technology Manager. Mark enjoyed an active lifestyle and traveled to many locations in the U.S., Europe, and the Islands. He was a kind, gentle, generous, and reliable friend, always there to help his family and friends whenever he was needed. His presence will be forever missed. Mark was the youngest of six children, the cherished baby of the family. Surviving him is his sister, Sarah Femia of Wallingford, his four brothers Jeremiah III (Jeanette) of Norwalk, David (Jeannette) of Roxbury, MA, Brian (Gail) of Old Lyme, James (Elizabeth) of Milford, his beloved nephews and nieces Sarah, Jeremiah IV, Patrick, Robert, and Bryan Keefe, Stacey Femia, and Michael Confer, Jr. He is also survived by his uncle Norman Tice, longtime family friend, Elizabeth Ford, and numerous cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. Family and friends may call on Sunday, January 20, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. All are invited to attend a Celebration of Mark's Life on Monday, January 21, 2013, at 12:00 Noon at the Seasons Restaurant of Oak Lane Country Club, 1027 Racebook Road, Woodbridge.
