Obituary of Isaiah Christopher Hansen
Isaiah Christopher Hansen, age 2 of Derby, cherished son of Elizabeth Alvarez of Derby and the late Joshua Hansen, went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Arriving into this world several months early, on August 4, 2015, he overcame many obstacles, living up to his nickname “Superman”. Although only with us a short time, Isaiah brought great love and joy to everyone he encountered. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his closest pals Maya, Noah, and Isaac, sharing fun times with his many cousins, and playing with his new puppy Lucas. Isaiah was a little adventurer who delighted in riding the safari animals at the mall and recently enjoyed a fun day at the zoo with his grandparents where he got to see many real animals up close. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Nora (Pedro Santiago) Osorio of Puerto Rico and Jesus Alvarez of Puerto Rico; paternal grandparents, Laura Thomas of Ansonia and Larry (Florence) Hansen of Middlebury; and many other loving family members and friends including his cousin Josiah who, like a big brother, was always there to help out. He was predeceased by his uncle, Isaiah Hansen, his namesake. The family sends a special thanks to all his caregivers who made his time on this earth possible. To those who provided loving care from the beginning: Claire and Megan (Yale NICU), JoAnn, Amanda, Angie, and Miss Kathleen (PSA Homecare Nurses) you will always be a part of our family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 10:00 AM in the Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church, 104 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment with his father will directly follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, prior to the service. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia is in care of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
