Obituary of Steven Michael Shingara
Steven Michael Shingara, age 28 of Oxford, died suddenly at St. Vincents Medical Center on June 12, 2018. Born in Poland on September 22, 1989, he was the beloved son of Steven G. Shingara of Oxford and Linda (Hugh) MacLean of Branford. Steven was raised in Branford and Oxford and was a 2008 Graduate of Branford High School where he was a member of the track team. He attended Vermont Technical College and found his passion in snowmobiling. He was a motorsports enthusiast, enjoying jetski’s, atv’s and cycling. Following his college years, Steven worked as a Project Manager for the Brennan Construction Co. and was a package driver for UPS since 2014. He will be long remembered for his love of children and his special bond with his younger cousins- always being the first to join in on the fun and games. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his step-sisters, Amy (Michael) Ihrke of MN and Jennifer (Timothy) O’Leary of Chester; paternal grandmother, Valeria Owcarz Shingara of Oxford and maternal step-grandmother, Judith Cranshaw MacLean of East Haddam; aunts, Valerie Shingara of Oxford and Debbie (Keith) Hansen of Woodbury; cherished niece and nephews, Emma Grace, Chase and Camden Ihrke of MN; as well as many cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial (Meeting Directly at Church), will be celebrated on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.
