Obituary of Mark Christopher Lapinski

Mark C. Lapinski, age 65, beloved husband of Elizabeth Kreczko Lapinski of Prospect, died peacefully on July 15, 2018 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family.  Born in Warsaw, Poland on January 6, 1953, he was the son of the late Jan and “Lila” Klara Kolodzieczyk Lapinski.  Mr. Lapinski immigrated to the U.S. in 1966 and settled with his family in Bridgeport.  He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War.  Mr. Lapinski was a graduate of Norwalk Technical College where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and worked as a Quality Assurance Technician for Sikorsky Aircraft for 38 years, until the time of his retirement in 2016.  A Prospect resident since 1981, he enjoyed working on classic cars, especially his 1968 Mustang, tinkering with electronics and computers, but above of all, he was an award winning billiards player, competing in local tournaments and billiard circuits, bringing home countless trophies. His passion was his family, always providing their every need and always willing to sacrifice his own needs for others.  In addition to his beloved wife of 44 years, he is survived by his devoted children of which he was so proud, Monica Donnelly and her husband, Joseph of LA,  Joshua Lapinski and his fiancé, Natalie Ann Thomas of Beacon Falls and Daniel Lapinski and his fiancé, Lauren Hill of Beacon Falls; sister, Hanna Adamska of AZ; a cherished granddaughter, Ella Zina Lapinski of Beacon Falls; nephew, Christopher Luczkow and his wife, Robyn of CA; nieces, Ewa Seibel of AZ and Urszula Bradley and her husband, Jeremy of AZ; as well as several other nieces, nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by a brother, Zbigniew Lapinski.  A Mass of Christian Burial (Meeting Directly at Church) will be celebrated on Monday, July 23, 2018, at 10:00 AM in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
