Obituary of Lillian J. Smerekanych

Lillian J. Smerekanych, age 82 of Manhattan, NY, died peacefully in her home on August 28, 2018.  Born in Derby, on September 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Metro and Julia Boryk Smerekanych.  Miss Smerekanych was a graduate of Ansonia High School and New Haven College earning a B.S. in Accounting.  She became the first female Certified Public Accountant in Connecticut.  A resident of New York City for more than 50 years, she enjoyed tag sales, flea markets and collecting antique cane woven chairs.  She is survived by her brother, James (Katherine) Smerekanych of Hamden and nephews, Michael (Kim) Smerekanych of Seattle, WA and Mark Smerekanych of Phoenix, AZ.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Sts.
